The body in the closet was going to be a problem. Kathryn Hu knew it. Yes, Tucker Jones was a cheating scumbag, and yes, she’d agreed to meet Olivia and Elle—Tucker’s other girlfriends—to exact revenge for all he’d put them through… But then they found him. Dead.
Do they look guilty? Yes.
Do they feel guilty for having wished him dead just hours before? Maybe a little.
But—solid motive and a crime scene covered in their DNA aside—they’re innocent. They swear.
To clear their names, Kat, Olivia and Elle team up to find the real killer. But as they go undercover and lie to everyone, including the hot detective working the case, they realize that every person in their ex's life had a reason to want him dead. Will they uncover the truth before they go down for a murder they didn't commit?
Review:
A chemist, a lawyer and a writer walk into a bar … and start thinking about getting revenge on their cheating ex boyfriend.
It’s Three women scorned, one dead ex boyfriend. Hu dunnit? You’ll have to get the book to find out.
Gloria Chao might be short for “glorious chaos” if this book is anything to go by.
Meet Kathryn Hu, who did kind of wish her cheating boyfriend was dead but just wanted her “Other Woman” moment to get some justice from him with his other lovers. She did not expect to suddenly have a dead body on her hands.
Kat was a brilliant narrator, so easily readable, so friendly lovable in her own maddening way that you just can't help but relate to even if you've never found yourself in her unique situation. She frustrated the hell of out me, but I was always rooting for her.
With a plot full of bad choices, all the feelings and some truly unique girl bonding experiences - this throws you in at the deep end with a frantic pace, full on emotions and non-stop spirals into madness. What starts off with some slightly gross pranks to relieve the tension unravels into a murder plot that our new friends find themselves in the middle of that just keeps getting messier and more complicated. And as for the twists? Obsessed, ate them up, left no crumbs - a murder mystery full of fun and friendship that you just have to read.
